Why We Started Hotkitch
We were frustrated. Every “best cooktop” article we found was either a thinly veiled press release, a list of products the writer had never touched, or a paid partnership disguised as editorial content.
So in 2024, we built our own kitchen lab and started testing appliances properly — boil times with calibrated timers, simmer precision with probe thermometers, surface temperature mapping with thermal cameras. We publish what we find, good or bad.
Hotkitch launched in early 2025 and has grown to over 4,200 newsletter subscribers who trust us for honest, data-driven buying advice.
How We Test
Every appliance is purchased at full retail price from standard consumer channels. No manufacturer loans, no review units, no early access.
Boil times, simmer precision, temperature uniformity, noise levels — all measured with calibrated instruments over a minimum of 6 weeks.
No first-impression scores. We cook on every appliance daily for at least 6 weeks before writing a word. Durability matters.
Prices change, new models launch. We re-check every roundup every quarter and update scores, prices, and recommendations accordingly.

Hotkitch earns revenue through affiliate commissions. When you click a link to a product on Amazon or another retailer and make a purchase, we earn a small commission at no extra cost to you.
